Position Summary:

This L.A.C.E.S./W.A.B.E.R.S.+ Data Specialist position provides assessment and SBCTC reporting support for campus and off-campus BEDA programs. Will support the day-to-day operation of the Transitional Education Department. Responsibilities include student intake, registration, administering standardized evaluations (CASAS test) for new and current students, and providing customer service to students/staff/faculty by phone, computer and in person.

Essential Functions

Manage the LACES (Literacy Adult Community Education System) database for federal and state reporting, program compliance, analysis and improvement. Troubleshoot with IT Department and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) to resolve reporting and programming issues.

Provide strong customer service. Answer incoming telephone calls and schedule appointments for intake/testing/registering. Assist walk-in students by answering questions related to class offering/explaining College/Division programs, touring classrooms, and registering for classes. Provide general clerical duties such as filing, making copies, new student intake packets, etc.

Setup testing computer stations, proctor testing sessions, and interpret test scores by referring to state testing charts. Complete and process student intakes with new/former students. Complete registration forms, State LACES forms and discussing payment options.

Provide training to faculty and staff. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

GED/High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Required Experience:

Minimum of six (6) months of office and customer service experience.

Experience with data collection and analysis.

Experience training and supporting staff.

Special Requirements

Must participate in CASAS Cadre and LACES training upon hire. Both are fully paid for trainings mandated by the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.
