Located on beautiful Whidbey Island, the Auld Holland Inn is a boutique style motel seeking an EXPERIENCED Front Office and Operations Manager.
The Inn is a 34 room building with several cabins and extended stay accommodations.
Overview: The Front Office and Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the operation of the Inn in an attentive, friendly, efficient and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service while maximizing operational efficiencies and developing employees. The essential job functions are listed below, but may include duties which are outside of these job functions as required to meet the need of the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Guest Enjoyment
Creates a welcoming and positive atmosphere within the motel
Demonstrates a commitment and eagerness to serve our guests by foreseeing potential concerns and finding solutions to the guests' needs
Empowers motel staff to deliver exceptional service to our guests by encouraging and rewarding positive behavior and attitudes
Maintains a positive & cooperative work environment between staff and management
Educates and train staff on departmental policies and procedures, ensuring uniformity
Administers Human Resource tasks and coordinate with the payroll department
Ensures front desk staff is trained in all front desk operations, including check-in/check-out, telephone, motel amenities, and computer system procedures
Ensures that front desk staff is trained in and follows financial control procedures
Knows local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the motel
Recognizes and corrects potential safety hazards, such as broken doors or railings, fire hazards etc.
Recognizes and corrects potential security problems such as locking doors after hours etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages and motivates staff with positive reinforcement
Plans and organizes weekly schedules, workload and staff assignments
Issues instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Communicates and understands the need of the customers and the employees
Engages with customers and receives feedback to improve service
Responds to requests for service and assistance of customers and staff
Contributes to building a positive and rewarding environment and team-spirit
Ability to read, analyze and interpret front office documents
Ability to effectively present information
Computer & Office skills:
Basic typing skills and ability to operate standard office equipment including: copier, telefax, telephone, calculator etc.
Ability to efficiently use a computer and printer for word processing, database management and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook; and process reservations and transactions with Inn Road Software.
Pay is very competitive and negotiable
