DescriptionCloses: January 17, 2024Starting Range: $79,680 - $118,610Full Range: $79,680 - $132,645Job DescriptionTo strategically develop and implement revenue, growth, business development and retention strategies involving our largest-use and most complex commercial and industrial customer accounts. A primary emphasis is to manage and build trust-based relationships within those companies, particularly with senior- level executive management. Must develop a thorough understanding of industry segments, factors influencing each customer’s business, as well as pricing and regulatory impacts and strategies. Must possess refined consultative negotiation skills in order to develop and sustain successful relationships and negotiate win-win outcomes around a multitude of complex industry and operational issues.

Successfully negotiate customer contracts on behalf of Avista to attract and retain customers, protect long-term demand for Avista products and services, and sustain long-term competitive pricing for the customer.

Proactively match Products and Service choices to our Business Customers through consultative sales solutions, while providing customer insights to better serve the needs of Avista customers.

Assist in the development and implementation of programs directed at improving the economic vitality of our largest customers while ensuring Avista profitability. Identify and develop new applications for Avista services within each customer’s operation.

Responsible for advocating for and supporting energy efficiency programs available to all Business Customers.

Represents customer’s needs with various corporate entities to ensure adequate hearing/resolution of any issues impacting long-term satisfaction of service.

Promote two-way communication by understanding issues, gaining a thorough knowledge of the company’s position on various issues, and resolving issues and concerns by serving as the as the liaison between Avista and its key customers. Manage and build key relationships at the highest possible level that will help both Avista and its largest customers partner in successful opportunities.

RequirementsAccount Executive I:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related discipline or demonstration of commensurate level of knowledge.

Knowledge and experience in both the finance and regulatory arenas would be preferred.

Minimum of 1 to 4 years of account executive, professional sales or customer relations experience, plus specialized training or experience in commercial and industrial plant processes and equipment preferred.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Strong emphasis will be placed on customer relationship building and demonstrated competencies in consultative negotiation and problem solving are required.

Other combinations of education/experience may also be considered.

Account Executive II:

All of the requirements of Account Executive I

Minimum of 5 to 8 years of account executive, professional sales or customer relations experience, plus specialized training or experience in commercial and industrial plant processes and equipment preferred.
