About the Role
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment, such as graders, tractors, backhoes, loaders, dozers, and more. Your expertise will be critical in shaping our projects, including underground utility installations, grading for roads and sidewalks, and general site preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Install underground utilities, including water and sewer systems.
Grade for curb, sidewalk, and road construction.
Operate heavy equipment like graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, large excavators, forklifts, and skid steers.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performance.
Transport materials using dump trucks and other machinery.
Assist with general site preparation, mass grading, and excavation for sewer and water services.
Promote workplace safety and environmental best practices.
Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
Occasionally perform manual tasks, such as digging, lifting, and material handling.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment.
Knowledge of industry best practices, production procedures, and safety protocols.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and active listening abilities.
Physical stamina and strength to handle strenuous activities.
High level of integrity and accountability.
Willingness to mentor and teach colleagues.
