Title: Marine Boat Mechanic
Roles and Responsibilities:
Engine Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose, service, and repair outboard and inboard engines.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and winterizing.
Electrical System Troubleshooting:
Inspect, repair, and install boat electrical systems including wiring, lighting, and battery systems.
Diagnose and fix issues with marine electronics, such as GPS, radios, and fish finders.
Hydraulic and Steering Systems:
Service and repair hydraulic systems, including steering and trim systems.
Conduct routine inspections and repairs to ensure the safe operation of all hydraulic components.
Fuel System Maintenance:
Diagnose and repair fuel systems, including fuel pumps, filters, and injectors.
Ensure proper fuel flow and efficiency by inspecting and cleaning fuel tanks and lines.
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform comprehensive vessel inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
Schedule and carry out regular preventative maintenance tasks to extend the life of the boat.
Customer Service and Communication:
Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining repair needs and options to boat owners.
Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
Parts Ordering and Inventory Management:
Identify and order necessary parts for repairs and maintenance.
Manage inventory of tools, parts, and equipment to ensure timely completion of jobs.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working on boats.
Ensure that all repairs and maintenance comply with industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or similar role.
Strong knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and boat maintenance.
Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
