About Us:

Sardine, a busy lakeside bistro overlooking Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking dedicated Host/Manager's Assistants to become integral members of our team. Under the direction of owners/chefs John Gadau and Phillip Hurley - co-founders of Sardine, Gates & Brovi, and Marigold Kitchen - we invite you to be a part of our service team.

Position: Host/Manager's Assistant

This is a great opportunity for an individual looking for Part-Time employment who enjoys creative food, wine, and cocktails and thrives being in an upbeat, hospitality driven work environment.

What You'll Do:

Host/Manager's Assistant: Support our professional management team in coordinating front-of-house operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience, and maintaining the high standards of service that Sardine is known for.

Responsibilities:

Greet and seat guests, managing reservations and waitlists efficiently.

Ensure the dining area is well-maintained and organized.

Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to provide exceptional service.

Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.

What We're Looking For:

Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a drive to excel.

Flexible hours available for evenings and/or weekends, minimum of 2 shifts/week required.

Exceptional multi-tasking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Living in the area year-round (this is not a seasonal position).

Qualifications

- Host/hostess experience

- Food service background

- Strong customer service skills

- Previous restaurant experience

- Excellent communication skills

- Familiarity with POS systems

- Ability to handle guest relations effectively

- Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: minimum 14-16 hours/week
