Job Title: Senior Move Manager

Status: Hourly

JOB SUMMARY: A senior move manager provides overall direction and guidance to the organizing and planning activities of a clients move. The individual will work with movers, clients and their family, vendors, auctioneers, realtors, and Segues staff to ensure that we meet the expectations of the client(s) and stay within our proposed budget as well as completing the task in a safe and efficient manner. A senior move manager must possess strong supervisory, organizing, customer service, and planning skills as well as take an active leadership role in communicating with the client(s) and support customer requirements/requests.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consistently follow, support, and enforce safe work practices and company policies.

Communicate with clients and support staff in a professional, informative, and timely manner.

Keep a clean and organized work area to prevent damage to clients or their belongings.

Report all injuries, safety violations, damage, and concerns to the business owner within 24 hours.

Direct and be accountable for the activities of staff with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and communication.

Utilize planning skills to develop acceptable floor plans with client prior to their move.

Provide consults with clients and their families. Consults include providing a reasonable estimate based on what is discussed with the client during their consult as well as delivering client contracts and collecting down payment.

Prepare and present on moving to senior communities as requested.

Market the SEGUES, LLC business.

Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies (tape, boxes, paper, tools, etc)

Schedule staff for each job and provide weekly updates including client address, times, etc.

Prepare consult folders, marketing and presentation materials.

Maintain a daily mileage log for reimbursement.

Handle expenses and prepare necessary expense reports.

Train employees as necessary.

Provide feedback, both positive and negative, to employees in a professional manner.

Provide packing, unpacking, organizing, and communication with team and clients throughout the move process.

Check voicemail and e-mail frequently and respond in a timely manner.

Create a finalized invoice once job is completed and collect final payment upon job completion.

Track and report hours accurately so client can be invoiced appropriately.

Have site prepared for move day and bring enough supplies for packing clients belongings appropriately.

Assist in coordinating across state line moves.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. An individual must have a vehicle that is in good condition and is able to haul moving boxes to and from job sites.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and continuing education preferred, but not required. Supervisory experience and/or formal education in supervision or management desired. Three years experience working in a moving, self-motivated environment desired. Experience with implementing, training, and leading projects desired. Experience with Microsoft software a plus.

Language Skills: Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and work well in a team environment. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to others and communicate in a timely and courteous manner with good grammar and without the use of profanity.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to provide a client estimate and then remain within the allotted budget.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to manage circumstances and make decisions when a policy, procedure or answer isn't apparent or doesn't quite fit the circumstance.

Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent working knowledge of moving, packing, planning, and organizing a move. Must attend and participate in meetings and trainings associated with the responsibilities of the position as described. Professionalism: Must represent SEGUES, LLC professionally when working with vendors and internal and external customers. Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, copier, scanner, fax machine, printer, phone, etc. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The work environment is unpredictable based on the client, but it is often dusty, dirty, busy, noisy, cluttered, and conditions vary with the seasons of the year. Also, contains some mechanical and chemical hazards, but protective equipment is available upon request. Other protective equipment may also be necessary based on the specific task.
