I'm a scientist with Long Covid living in Austin Texas looking for a part-time virtual assistant. I'm posting here in Madison because UW Madison is a good school, and this is a perfect job for a grad student who needs to augment their tragically-low stipend!
This position is for 10-15 hours per week, and pays $20 / hr via Venmo. It's for a mix of things, ranging from helping me with presentations and personal projects, to (frequently) taking basic life tasks off my plate, which I'm less able to do because of Long Covid. These include:
Submitting and tracking job applications on my behalf. (You'll have all the materials, of course.)
Helping design & refine presentations
Things like renewing my passport (basically finding the relevant forms, filling out what you can, and giving me a short list of what I need to do to complete the process)
Research assistance for various projects (if you like learning new things, you'll enjoy this part)
Requirements are:
being generally competent
either knowing how to use tools like Google Sheets and Adobe InDesign, or knowing that you can pick up the basics quickly
being extremely effective and self-directed at admin and basic online research tasks
being a clear and thorough thinker / worker / communicator
The 10-15 hrs per week will be almost entirely your own time, but I will want to have 2-3 one hour co-work sessions per week, which we can schedule for times that are mutually convenient.
