MUST BE OPEN AND WILLING TO TRAVEL Short DescriptionKey responsibilities and learning objectives include:

Shadowing and assisting the Director of Dining Services in leading salaried managers and hourly associates.

Observing and participating in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account under the Director's guidance.

Assisting with interviewing new associates under the Director's supervision and learning recruitment standard processes.

Participating in training programs for associate onboarding, task delegation, and performance management.

Learning and practicing effective communication to address customer complaints and resolve issues alongside the Director.

Observing the Director in preparing and leading the annual budget and gaining an understanding of financial processes within the department.

Learning to apply company systems for reports like inventory, cash flow, production, payroll, and timesheets through guided practice.

Learning to use company systems for cost control like menu forecasting and labor scheduling.

Shadowing the Director and other staff to understand how food and beverage items are prepared, presented, and served according to company standards for quality, safety, sanitation (HACCP and OSHA), and portion control.

Gradually gaining hands-on experience in food preparation tasks under close supervision, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines, and in compliance with USDA programs.

Short DescriptionPreferred Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or minimum of an A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related K12 experience.

Three plus years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control.

Solid understanding of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable.

Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate on various levels.

Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.

Proficient digital literacy including various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and the Internet.
