We have a very loyal following, amazing food, and friendly service. We are currently hiring for a full-time or part-time Assistant Kitchen Manager to help oversee daily and weekly responsibilities in the Back of House. This position will report to our General Kitchen Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Assist in planning and creating enticing specials and seasonal menus.
- Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering and receiving supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Help to maintain and optimize the kitchen's labor cost by developing efficient staffing schedules and adjusting staffing levels based on business demands.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Monitor and analyze kitchen performance metrics, such as food costs, labor costs, and kitchen efficiency, and implement strategies for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food, maintenance of equipment, and cleanliness of the kitchen area.
Qualifications and Skills Preferred:
- Proven experience (2 years) as an Assistant Kitchen Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a medium-sized restaurant environment.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen management.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Solid understanding of cost control and inventory management.
- Proficiency in creating and costing recipes, and managing food costs
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Food Handler's Card or willing to get one
