Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Aliso Viejo, California. This role is within the financial industry and primarily involves managing payroll processes, responding to payroll-related inquiries, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities: Ensuring timely and accurate processing of biweekly payroll. Act as a subject matter expert for timekeeping and timeclocks, including UKG and Workforce. Assisting with the finalization of paychecks when needed. Ensuring garnishments, liens, and other support orders are accurately entered and maintained. Collaborating with People Services and Accounting on business-related projects that impact payroll. Writing, updating, and maintaining new ad hoc and business intelligence reports. Reconciling payroll-related general ledger and preparing reports or statements summarizing payroll-related accounts. Initiating projects with UKG to update files, system requirements, or data integrations. Working with People Services to execute payroll-related items related to earnings or deduction code updates, GL or net pay file updates. Executing necessary payroll related items for acquisitions and dispositions. Completing all pre and post-quarter and year-end processes. Assisting with 401k and Worker’s Compensation audit deliverables. Funding 401k deductions after each payroll processing. Managing benefits - new hire enrollments, life events and open enrollment. This includes deductions, approvals and denying any changes and adding information to carrier portals. Ensuring all deductions are correct every payroll based on invoices and reporting. Uploading HSA after each payroll processing. Managing 401k - Open enrollment on a quarterly basis, running reports for 401k loans, weekly loan reports and contribution changes, and yearly census data. Handling deferrals for all 401k withdrawals. Assisting in facilitating annual 401k audit. Ensuring 5500 filling is accurate and completed by the deadline. Handling Quarterly and Monthly WC reporting/invoicing.
