Under the direction of the Inspire Performing Arts Production Director, and in cooperation with the staff of the & Performing Arts (PA) Department, assists in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the production program at the high school level in conformance with the school charter. The following applies to all productions and production-related business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Assist with paperwork for facilities and independent contractors.

Liaisons with teachers, staff, parents and hired professionals within the predetermined PA production procedures and protocols.

Encourage and assist all performers and student crews are succeeding academically while participating in extracurricular productions based on school contract requirements and grade point average minimums.

Assist in scheduled PA productions and added PA events along with updating the yearly production calendar.

Help arrange transportation for offsite activities.

Help coordinate parent and community volunteers.

Assist in coordinating proper student supervision at all production events.

Ensure that Inspire is represented in public and in print to the highest quality standards possible with regards to the performing arts programs.

Assist in tracking production purchases and school inventory.

Assist in coordinate rehearsal schedules and calendars as needed.

Be liaison for past, present, and future Inspire performing arts students.

Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment and materials for the PA program.

Help troubleshoot the day to day issues of the productions.

Assist in liaising between the IPA boosters’ group, community, staff producers/teachers, and administration.

Help facilitate the Theater Rules and Guidelines when working on or off campus.

Help coordinate the scheduling of production events and work with all departments to avoid, identify, and solve conflicts as they arise.

Assist in the requisitioning of production equipment as needed.

Assist in the responsibility for the care of production facilities and storage of inventory.

Participate in fundraising, public relations, and school-wide events, etc.

Be an advocate for students in the productions.

Abide by professional ethics standards established by the board and administration.

Maintain punctuality for all prescribed functions.

Assume the responsibility for the safety and welfare of students whenever a danger is observed on campus or production site.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Experience:

Some experience working in an organized education or child care setting.

Prefer one year experience working with high school aged students in an educational setting.

CPR/First Aide Required

Training:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Supplemental specialized training in child development, education, or a related field is desirable.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

Must be able to hear and speak to exchange information; see to perform assigned duties; sit or stand for extended periods of time; possess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer and other office and learning equipment; kneel, bend at the waist, and reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files; lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Knowledge of:

Techniques and methods of student supervision.

English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment.

Ability to:

Communicate effectively with high school students.

Work with students involved in academic intervention programs.

Patiently and effectively work with students of differing backgrounds.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Work some weekends, evenings, as needed.
