Description We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager with freight forwarding experience to join our team. The Sales Manager will report directly to the VP of Sales and play a key role in driving revenue growth, building a high-performing sales team, and contributing to the company's success. This is a hybrid position with flexibility for in-office and remote work in the future.The ideal candidate has a proven track record in sales, strong leadership skills, and the ability to cultivate a team that achieves consistent results. While freight forwarding experience is essential, prior sales management experience is not required—just a successful history of selling and motivating others.Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership: Lead and develop a motivated sales team to meet and exceed company targets. Set clear objectives, coach team members, and provide ongoing feedback to ensure individual and team success.
Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the VP of Sales to create and implement sales strategies that drive business growth and profitability within the freight forwarding industry.
Team Building: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages personal development and accountability.
Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the freight forwarding market. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas of improvement. Regularly review team progress against sales goals and adjust strategies as needed.
Customer Relationship Management: Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction by overseeing the team’s client interactions, addressing escalated issues, and developing strategies for customer retention.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment on company goals.
Sales Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to the VP of Sales, presenting sales forecasts, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Market Insights: Stay informed of industry trends, competitive activities, and market conditions to ensure the company’s offerings remain competitive and relevant.
Requirements
Freight Forwarding Experience: Required. Strong understanding of freight forwarding, logistics, or related industries.
Sales Experience: Proven success in a sales role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team, even if previous management experience is limited.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively and influence stakeholders.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business goals.
Customer-Focused: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and experience.
Analytical Skills: Competent in using sales metrics, CRM tools, and analytics to track performance and inform decisions.
Hybrid Ready: Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to transition as needed.
Prior sales management experience is a plus but not required.
