Description We are seeking a professional and skilled Construction Payroll Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Prevailing Wage, Certified Payroll, Union Payroll, and proficiency in American Contractor and ProContractor Software. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who is adept at handling multi-faceted tasks in a fast-paced environment.Primary Job Duties:
Administer and manage the regular preparation of construction payroll, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Process prevailing wage and certified payroll, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Manage all aspects of union payroll, including handling union deductions, benefits and other related attributes.
Maintain and manage electronic records using ProContractor and American Contractor software.
Assist with periodic reporting, audits and reconciliation of payrolls.
Resolve payroll issues, responding to queries and inconsistencies swiftly and professionally.
Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance teams to ensure integrated data and efficient processes.
Create monthly statements of earnings and related documentation as needed.
Keep current on changes to payroll-related legislation.
Essential Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience specifically in construction is strongly preferred.
Expertise with prevailing wage and certified payroll procedures.
Knowledge of union payroll requirements.
Proficient in American Contractor and ProContractor software.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook in particular).
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
