Description Direct Hire Opportunity!Our client in the East Bay is looking for a Behavioral Health Specialist. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, treating, and supporting individuals with psychological disorders, substance use issues, and psychosocial challenges. Your expertise will contribute to the overall well-being of their patients by implementing evidence-based therapeutic methods, crisis interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.Responsibilities:
Collaborate with primary care providers to assess and address psychological disorders, substance use disorders, and psychosocial challenges.
Work in tandem with primary care providers to manage chronic pain, chronic diseases, and associated psychosocial issues.
Offer psychopharmacological consultations, in collaboration with psychiatrists, to primary care providers within the defined scope of practice.
Provide consultation and training to clinic staff across various behavioral health domains.
Conduct behavioral health screening, triage, evaluations, and assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including cognitive behavior therapy and contingency management.
Offer crisis intervention and behavioral health support.
Conduct group interventions encompassing treatment, psycho-education, and health education.
Collaborate closely with Medical Case Managers and other healthcare providers.
Deliver education and support to patients and their families, promoting adherence to medical and behavioral health recommendations.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate referrals to community resources based on assessed needs.
Provide comprehensive behavioral health services, including intake evaluations, crisis intervention, ad hoc counseling, individual/family/group interventions, treatment planning, collateral assessments/interventions, and outreach.
Develop, update, and maintain procedures, protocols, paperwork, forms, and data to ensure the program remains relevant and user-friendly for patients, clinic staff, and funders.
Maintain accurate records of patient cases and prepare reports as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work or social welfare OR a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
Current and valid California license as a clinical social worker (LCSW) or psychologist.
One year of directly related experience, with a preference for a background in primary care consultation, behavioral medicine, health psychology, or other relevant areas.
Experience working in public or community health settings, particularly with low-income multicultural populations.
Bilingual proficiency, preferably in Spanish, is highly desirable.
