What you will be doing:

As the Director of Development, your primary responsibility involves identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support the college's initiatives.

Working closely with the Dean, you will develop and execute development and campaign strategies while contributing to discussions on volunteer leadership strategies. Additionally, as a member of the College of Health and Human Services leadership team, you will actively participate in regular meetings with the Dean to coordinate fundraising strategies aimed at achieving the unit’s annual fundraising goal.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $92,000 based on experience.

How you will be spending your time:

Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts through comprehensive prospect research, frequent meetings to assess capacity and interest, strategic cultivation efforts, proposal development, and occasional collaboration with senior administrators for principal gifts exceeding $250,000.

Donor Stewardship: Regularly interact with donors to ensure consistent and meaningful stewardship of gifts received.

Special Events: Occasionally organize or support special events designed to identify, cultivate, or steward donors.

Boards and Volunteer Engagement: Frequently interacting with volunteer leaders and boards to engage them in the mission of the College.

Annual Giving: Occasionally assist in strategy and coordination of unit-based annual gift solicitations and special campaigns, interfaces often with Annual Giving office on strategies and scripts for solicitation.

What you will bring: 

Bachelor's degree required from a regionally accredited institution;

Minimum of four years of increasingly responsible and successful fundraising experience or professional experience with transferable skills such as sales, marketing or public relations;

Demonstrated track record in working with individuals and groups, ability to work as a member of a team, recognition of the importance of education to individuals and society.

Exposure to management, including budgetary responsibilities;

Experience with a nonprofit organization;

Experience with capital/comprehensive campaigns and/or specific experience in major gift solicitation, corporate foundation relations or constituent relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's or other advanced degree preferred;

Experience/background in higher education.

Experience with alumni/donor databases and campus applications such as Advance, Reeher or Raiser’s Edge.
