Records Clerk/Admin Assistant

Maurer Law is seeking a professional, experienced, full-time clerk to support our firm’s busy personal injury and elder abuse practice.

Benefits include fully covered health insurance for the employee (including paying the increased premium each year – we don’t pass that off to the employee), a $25k life insurance policy, and a 401k plan that has an automatic investment of 3% of your annual income which employees are eligible for after six months with the firm. We also offer ten days paid vacation and six paid sick days. Quarterly bonuses are issued based on the firm’s performance, and year-end bonuses are issued based on time with the firm, the employee’s performance and contribution to our firm’s reputation and culture.

Candidate must have a strong work ethic, a strong desire to help people, be able to multi-task, work well in a team environment, have excellent communication skills, and interact with vendors, clients, colleagues, defense counsel, and the court in a professional and mature manner. Candidate should also be technologically savvy and capable of utilizing the firm’s software programs including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro and other practice management software. Training will be provided.

Job duties include:

Contacting clients for status updates and drafting memorandums

Ordering medical records and medical bills, tracking requests, and logging receipts

Ordering police reports, investigative reports, and submitting Public Records Act requests

Ordering employment records and other documents to support lost income claims

Reviewing and summarizing medical records, medical bills and depositions

Organizing exhibits for use at trial

Attending defense medical examinations with clients and providing support

Drafting and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, disbursements, and other case-related documents

Receiving, reviewing, cataloging, and monitoring personal injury liens, contact information (clients, case parties,

opposing counsel, experts, etc.), subpoenas, and depositions transcripts

Recording and monitoring litigation costs

This full-time position is at-will and non-exempt, and reports directly to the firm’s Administrator.
