Summary: The Dairy Team Member cares for live animals. The work is both inside and outside in all weather conditions at all hours, including early mornings and shifts that cover the 24 hour a day needs of our goats. This job is hands-on, physically demanding, and technically challenging.
Essential Duties
The essential duties vary depending upon individual aptitude and farm need and include, but are not limited to the following:
Milking Parlor
Set up and prepare milking parlor for shift.
Operate milking equipment using SOPs, ensuring livestock safety.
Clean and sanitize milking equipment, parlor, and holding pen after each milking.
Assist with routing and loading the goats from the stalls to the parlor for milking and back again ensuring all goats are tracked, and milked.
Evaluate animal health and administer treatment as necessary.
Kid Care
Assist in live births and care for newborn and young kids.
Bottle feed and evaluate kid health, administer treatment as necessary.
General Farm
Assist with herd care such as feeding, watering, and cleaning stalls.
Operate farm equipment such as a tractor, loader, and skid-steer.
Repair and maintenance of dairy structure and fencing
Keeping everything clean and well maintained.
Perform business administration support such as date entry and updating Excel spreadsheets or drafting correspondence.

Work Environment
The Cypress Grove diary environment is typical of a working farm and will be hotter or colder, wetter, and more humid than is typical in an average working environment. Dairy employees will be exposed to the outdoors in all weather conditions. Proper protective gear is provided and must be worn at all times.
Physical Demands
This job is “hands on” and physically demanding. It may require working outdoors in all weather, at various hours. The demands described here are representative of those typically encountered in this role.
Remain upright on wet concrete floors and uneven outdoor surfaces for your full shift, and to bend and reach objects below your waist and above your head.
Position self to properly complete the task at hand. This may involve turning all or parts of the body, or bending downward in order to place or reach an object at a lower level.
Ability to operate farm equipment and other devices with precision as necessary.
Ability to grasp and move objects and tolerate tasks requiring repetitive motion.
Navigate to and move about inside Cypress Grove dairy facilities.
Regularly grasp and move objects up to 50lbs by yourself (sometimes those loads wiggle) and to regularly grasp and move objects up to 150lbs with help.
Work with animals, animal waste, feed, and other allergens.
Communicate over the phone and in writing through resources such as mail, email, instant message, text.

Qualifications
Skills/Experience
A High School Diploma or GED.
Experience working with animals, on a working farm, and with heavy equipment is preferred
Work experience that required multitasking is preferred.
