Administrative Support Specialist

Strombeck Properties is family owned by Steve and Tina Strombeck and was founded in 1987. Strombeck Properties manages properties all over Humboldt County.

Administrative Support Specialist, Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 Per Hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 Hour Lunch). Appointments are typically made at the beginning of the salary range. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time job, with a percentage matched retirement, seasonal bonuses, 7 paid holidays and paid vacation after 1 year of employment.

Position Summary:

The Administrative Support Specialist reports to the Office Manager. Excellent, timely and professional customer service are prioritized as this position interacts with a variety of property management constituents including potential tenants, tenants, vendors, business professionals, maintenance staff, and co-workers. It is required to maintain friendly and professional communication, even in stressful environments. The position requires specialized knowledge in a variety of areas including property management, government and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties:

● Greet and assist customers, including potential tenants, tenants, vendors, business professionals, maintenance staff, and co-workers by phone, in person and email.

● Process rental applications, reference checks, lease & month -to-month agreements, tenant move-in/move-out paperwork and monthly rental payment intake and deposits using computerized property management software.

● Assist Office manager in special duties as assigned.

● Track and order office supplies, property management and maintenance materials.

● Create and issue maintenance work orders created by tenants and Strombeck team members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Associated with this Position Include:

● Working knowledge of office practices and procedures, grammar, and punctuation.

● Working knowledge of word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheet data entry, and other specific information technology applications.

● Skills in customer service including problem-solving and conflict resolution.

● Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.

● Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.

● Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures.

● Ability to learn and apply filing systems and to arrange and place records, reports, and files into a proper sequence.

Minimum Qualifications:

● High School Diploma or equivalent

● 2-3 years’ experience in a multi-person, high public contact office setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience working in a property management setting.
