As a top-tier tech, you will be responsible for diagnosing complex drivability, electrical, and mechanical issues across a wide range of vehicles. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about solving problems, staying current with technology, and delivering excellent service with integrity and precision.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics on domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
Use OEM and aftermarket scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and diagnostic software
Conduct reprogramming and software updates when applicable
Accurately interpret trouble codes, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins
Perform mechanical repairs as needed, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and HVAC work
Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate estimates and timelines
Perform quality control inspections on completed repairs
Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used
Stay current with automotive trends and emerging technologies
Help mentor B and C-level technicians when needed
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience as an automotive technician, including diagnostic work
ASE Certified Master Technician (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Strong knowledge of CAN bus systems, network diagnostics, and module programming
Proficiency with scan tools such as Autel, Snap-On, OEM platforms (Techstream, IDS, etc.)
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must have own tools; specialty tools provided by the shop
Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in various shop conditions
Preferred Qualifications
Hybrid and EV experience and certifications
Smog License (BAR-certified) is a strong plus
OEM-specific training (Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM, etc.)
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
