DescriptionInterested in helping establish and lead a new, multi-organizational program that will have resounding impact across the infrastructure that powers Amazon's talent management products?Key job responsibilitiesAs the Senior Technical Program Manager for GTMC SIERRA's engineering organization, you will be responsible for helping establish a program that will be focused on identifying common architecture components as they span the broader GTMC organization and coming up with a strategy on how to drive efficiencies through consolidation while not slowing down teams that depend on them. This work will underpin some of Amazon’s most strategic technical investments in the people space and support Amazon’s efforts to be Earth’s Best Employer. In this role you will have a significant impact on 1.5 million Amazonians and the communities Amazon serves.You will play a critical role in the engineering organization's major initiatives including experimentation and application of large language models while also working to setup organizational processes and mechanisms that drive goal execution, annual planning and contribute to a culture of operational excellence. Your work will span multiple teams and organizations, routinely interacting with executives and senior leadership to align on goals, objectives and strategy.About the teamGlobal Talent Management & Compensation (GTMC) SIERRA (Science, Insights, Experience, Research, Reporting & Analytics) is a horizontal, multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to be a force multiplier for the broader GTMC organization and our key customer cohorts. We accomplish this by using our expertise in data analytics and science, economics, machine learning (ML), UX, I/O psychology, and engineering to build insights and experiences that raise the bar in understanding and shaping decision making at scale by integrating within and across talent journeys as well as through self-service tools and closed loop mechanisms outside of those journeys. Our portfolio of products spans foundational data sources, metrics, and research through to finished features and products that our end-customers interact with on a daily basis.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Irvine, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USABasic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of technical product or program management experience

The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
