We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing bookkeeping for multiple corporations, processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities include:
Documenting financial transaction details and monitoring the transactions
Preparing and filing financial documents
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Fact-checking accounting data
Reconciling company accounts
Processing payroll and tracking payroll data
Coordinating employee onboarding, enrollments, and terminations
Prepare and distribute reports to management
Process payroll for employees accurately and timely
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Reviewing monthly payroll deductions
Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
Administer and coordinate fmla leave and absences
Research and develop benefit plans
Assisting with tax payments and returns
Assist with audits and special projects as needed
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Required Skills include:
Proficiency in bank reconciliation
Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles
Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Strong 10-key typing skills
Understanding of debits and credits
Experience with accounting software and QuickBooks
Ability to perform journal entries accurately
Background in public accounting is a plus
