Payroll Administrator

Job Summary:

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing and processing the weekly payroll for our employees, including field technicians. This role involves calculating commissions, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The Payroll Administrator will also serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from field technicians and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

Process weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.

Calculate hours worked, commissions, bonuses, and other compensations.

Verify timesheets and attendance records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Commission Calculation:

Calculate commissions based on performance metrics and company guidelines.

Collaborate with sales and management teams to ensure accurate commission data.

Address and resolve any discrepancies in commission calculations.

Communication:

Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries from field technicians and other staff.

Communicate payroll policies, procedures, and changes effectively.

Address payroll-related questions and issues promptly and professionally.

Compliance and Record-Keeping:

Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.

Prepare and submit required payroll reports and filings.

Systems and Software:

Utilize payroll software and systems to process payroll and generate reports.

Ensure the payroll system is updated with current employee information and pay rates.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to payroll software.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.

Provide recommendations for improving payroll practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Clerk, or similar role.

Strong knowledge of payroll processes, laws, and regulations.

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
