Set Shop Project Manager
We are a custom fabrication shop with locations on both coasts that specializes in bringing unique and imaginative projects to life—no matter the size or complexity. Our talented team is dedicated to impeccable quality and fostering lasting client relationships. We excel in creating custom experiential environments and retail spaces, transforming the unimaginable into reality.
With a fully equipped wood and metal shop, CNC machining, 3D printing capabilities, and a scenic specialty paint shop, there’s virtually nothing we can’t create.
Responsibilities
As a Set Shop Project Manager, you will:
Oversee multiple projects from inception to completion while ensuring client satisfaction.
Manage project estimates and budgets, tracking costs effectively.
Develop, update, and communicate project schedules daily.
Present schedules during daily team meetings.
Collaborate with shop staff to address time-sensitive issues and adjust workflows.
Interface with designers, shop foremen, and other stakeholders to maintain clear communication.
Approve and synthesize shop drawings and project details.
Visit job sites as needed and oversee the successful execution of project installations.
Forecast project challenges related to staffing, budget, and timeline, and proactively create solutions.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of project management. Additionally, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in successfully managing complex projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of fabrication processes (experience in wood, metal, or scenic production is a plus).
Familiarity with software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or SketchUp (preferred but not required).
Experience with change agreements and cost estimation.
Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
High standards for quality, craft, and aesthetic detail.
Composure under pressure, with the patience to navigate an imperfect process and a drive to improve it.
