We are seeking teachers with recent middle or high school math classroom teaching experience in Southern California to join our team at both of our locations. Our program is growing and we have multiple positions open (see specific subject/skill areas below).
This is a highly professional and pedagogically rich environment where you would work closely with the CEO and a team of 2-5 other experienced teachers to serve students in 4th-12th grades in a dynamic small-group after-school setting.
If you are transitioning out of the classroom but want to stay in education professionally, or if you are a full-time teacher looking for supplemental evening hours, this could be a good fit for you.
Our program is growing and this position starts at a minimum of 8 hrs per week but has potential to increase to 25-30 hours if desired, at which level health insurance and retirement benefits are offered.
"Dealbreaker" qualifications (we will not consider your application unless you have):
classroom teaching experience in the last five years in middle or high school in Southern California
reliable availability - this is an employee position in-person at our center, with steady hours during the school year
ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
small group classroom management skills
high positive energy like a coach or camp counselor
completion of the cover letter (see below)
Specifically, we are seeking expertise in the following areas:
In Manhattan Beach: must be available at least Mondays & Wednesdays 4-8pm, additional hours available
Two positions available:
math specialist (middle school through Alg II)
multi-subject generalist (maybe you are an English teacher who can coach essay writing but you also happen to be competent in tutoring biology, or you are a math teacher who has the skills to jump in and study history with a student who needs to work on their multiple choice skills
