RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE DESIGNER AT PACIFIC OUTDOOR LIVING
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residential Landscape Designer at Pacific Outdoor Living meets with homeowners at our Sun Valley office. No more driving in LA traffic from appointment to appointment. He attentively listens to homeowners' ideas, collaborating with them to design their projects. Working alongside our in-house support team—including junior designers, apprentices, estimators, and others—they design and sell $100k to $200k worth of outdoor projects every week. This fast-paced and exciting role allows for the use of creativity to craft projects that not only fulfill homeowners' desires but also fit within their budgets. Satisfaction comes from knowing that your designs will be executed to the highest standards by our highly trained in-house crews. Thanks to a competitive commission structure, our existing Design Sales Representatives are earning $100,000 to $150,000 per year and more.

Pacific Outdoor Living is an outdoor living design-build company located in Sun Valley, California. We have a reputation for high quality using our in-house installers. We have been in business since 1999 and have developed very workable organizational processes that aid us in creating amazing outdoor spaces with the utmost quality and speed, through innovative systems.
We have also developed a unique five-step design process that allows one designer to design and sell between 5 million and 8 million a year; 3.5 designers sold over 20 million in 2023. This is due to the support team of site measurers, CAD operators, 3D designers, and estimators, which allows our designers to concentrate on educating our customers about what they are buying and delivering a design that they love that is within their budget.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
· Engage with 3-5 new clients weekly, understand their needs and sign them up for Landscaping Design Agreements.
· Utilize your landscape design expertise to translate client ideas into designs they love, working within their budgets.
· Collaborate closely with junior designers, apprentices, and estimators to refine and finalize designs swiftly.
· Manage client presentations from conceptual designs to revisions, and prepare projects for estimation.
· Successfully sell $100k - $200k of the construction projects a week.
CAPABILITIES/KEY COMPETENCIES:
· 3+ years of landscaping design/construction experience
· Provide portfolio CAD/Hand Sketch Designs. Completed job photos is a plus.
· Some sales experience is a plus. We will train the right person to be a high percentage closer.
· Ability to understand customer needs and create a realistic budget.
· Knowledge of local plants, space planning, and construction techniques
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
· Construction knowledge is a big plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or equivalent experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Able to commute to Sun Valley Office on a daily basis.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working with clients and at a computer
This position will require a small amount of travel for Job Walks and occasional client visits: up to 10 percent.
