Description Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant to join our client! This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. This position is for a talented Cost Accountant looking for a company experiencing substantial growth.Your responsibilities
Prepare and complete internal cost audits
Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory
Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results
Analyze costs and recommend cost savings
Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Assemble reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost
Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Make calculations of new and proposed product costs
Help prepare general ledgers and assist in audits
Put into action a standard costing methodology for domestic plants Requirements
Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
5+ years of Cost Accounting work experience
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Understanding of organizational accounting concepts
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
