Essential Functions:
Assist the manager, recreation in planning, implementing and coordinating a recreation and avocation program consisting of sports, arts and crafts, music, movies and other related activities to meet the special interests and needs of the students.
Plan activities that will stimulate and sustain the interest of students so they may benefit from the physical, psychological and social values to be derived from recreational activities.
Provide staff supervision in the absence of the manager, recreation.
Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation/avocation activities.
Assist the manager, recreation in developing and maintaining contact with off center recreational sources and groups.
Coordinate the new enrollee recreation orientation program.
Perform all duties assigned to the recreation advisors.
Distribute mail daily to students.
Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
Participate in student employability programs and activities.
Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management. Education and Experience Requirements:Associates of degree or one year related experience working with youth required preferably in organized recreational activities.
