Senior Scheduler/Cost Analyst - To c
oordinate and manage all cost/scheduling activities in
Duties include but are not limited to:
? Coordinate preparation of cost reduction, value engineering, and risk assessment
recommendations for project cost effectiveness.
? Assist in determining the scheduling sequence for design, bidding, and awarding
? construction and professional services contracts to achieve the schedule project
? completion.
? Analyze and provide alternatives and expected outcomes to avoid potential Project
? schedule delays.
? Prepare detailed project schedules to establish optimal contract interfaces and
? determine activity relationships to accurately plan project completion.
? Define scheduling levels of effort for project assignments and distributes among staff
? Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule
? Ensure that scheduling reviews and development incorporate project staff and others in field by
maintaining clear and frequent communication
? Advise engineering and project management teams regarding any problem areas observed from
both schedule reviews and field visits to confirm work in place such as contractor staffing levels,
delays in field production, scope slippage or other events that could affect project completion
? Provide technical direction, decision-making and/or obtaining additional technical staff
assistance as the situation warrants (may include obtaining the services of specialty consultants)
? Promote technical excellence on the scheduling team project, including furthering professional
accreditations, training and certifications if and when possible
? Maintain affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies
? Recommend and prepare technical papers
? Contribute to the advancement of city agency’s goals through commitment to productive
collaboration with all stakeholders
? Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
? Bachelor’s Degree - Engineering, Construction Management or Business.
? 10 years’ Project Control experience in large transit projects.
? Knowledge of spreadsheet, graphics, and data base management, and word
? processing software.
? Will need to be proficient with P6
? AACE Certifications PSP, CFCC, EVP, CST are highly desired
? Strong experience in both scheduling and cost
? Strong ability to recognize ways to contribute to a culture of leadership

? Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction program and the
ability to communicate progress to both technical and management-level personnel
? Demonstrated experience scheduling the design and construction of large-scale, complex
projects; including developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for a
complicated design effort
? Experience with alternate delivery methods is desirable
