Description We are in the professional services industry, based in Los Angeles, California, and are actively seeking a Sr. Grant Accountant for a hybrid (1-2 days on site) contract opportunity. The selected individual will play a crucial role in supporting our grant function, working closely with our finance and grant teams. The role involves handling the grant-related financial activities, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.Responsibilities: Assume responsibility for assigned open grants, understanding their reporting requirements, and quickly establishing a working relationship with the program teams. Work alongside the teams and leadership to prepare fiscal audit schedules, ensuring accurate backup and timely scheduling. Allocate both personnel and non-personnel expenses to grants, with a focus on maximizing and tracking spenddown on expiring grants. Prepare budgets for new grant applications, and conduct budget vs actual variance analysis on existing grants, ensuring the information is accurate and processed in a timely manner. Review expenditure grant coding to ensure compliance and prepare monthly grant and contract billing and reporting. Reconcile grants invoices with the general ledger and prepare necessary journal entries. Carry out pre- and post-award grant-related functions, such as budget and expense analysis, labor distribution changes, and budget modifications. Maintain fiscal management of grants and contracts in line with funder requirements. Work closely with the Grants team to ensure all information is accurate and processed timely. Liaise with the program teams to ensure smooth operation of the grants.Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically in grant accounting Proficiency in handling Federal Grants, Government Grants, and Private Grants Demonstrated experience in Grant Accounting, Grant Administration, and Grant Management Knowledge and experience in Non-profit Accounting Familiarity with Single Audit (non-profit) and Fund Accounting - Non-Profit Proficiency in using Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Table preferred Experience in preparing Audit Schedules Ability to Analyze Variance and perform Variance Analysis Excellent Interpersonal Communication skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a teamRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
