A new Assisted Living facility is looking for a Medical Technician (Med Tech) who is a Resident Medication Aide (RMA) supporting the facility and its team by acting as a front-line contact for residents. This role is a physical manifestation of the facility’s mission to provide quality senior care in accordance with federal, state and local policies and standards.
Responsibilities:
Set-up and supervise distribution of medication to residents. Setup and assist with self-administration of medication.
Maintain resident medication programs and documentation, including medication distribution, ordering and reception, up-to-date file/records management, and storage.
Enhance the lives of older adults by assisting with doctor’s appointments, pharmacies, and daily living activities.
Exhibit ethical behavior, promote the highest degree of quality care and work cooperatively with other talented team members in daily support of residents.
Attend to other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
High School diploma/GED, or as required by state regulations.
Medication Management certified.
Must be at least 18 years old.
At least six (6) months of experience working with seniors in assisted living, home health, independent living, hospital or long term care environment.
A strong desire to serve and care for seniors, along with good and effective communication skills.
Ability to make choices and act in the resident's best interest and can remain calm in difficult situations.
Mandated Reporter of any suspected elderly abuse, neglect and/or harassment (e.g., physical, mental, sexual, etc.).
