SEEKING INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR ATTORNEY W/FOCUS ON BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS & LITIGATION
We are a small Claremont based business law firm serving the Inland Empire, East San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. We are seeking an Independent Contractor Attorney with 4+ years of experience in business litigation (i.e. breach of contract, fraud, intentional interference with contract, trade secrets, defamation, employer defense lawsuits). While extensive litigation experience is necessary, experience with business transactions (i.e. buy/sell agreements, business formation, custom contracts, etc.) is a huge plus.
The Contractor will be working remotely and must be able to handle a wide range of general business matters.
Our Law Office is interested in a Contractor Attorney with excellent law and motion drafting skills, be familiar with trial preparation as well as be comfortable with all aspects of pleading and responding, discovery (including propounding and responding), along with meet and confer letters.
This position requires a candidate to:
Work independently on many different types of cases
Manage demands and changing priorities
Possess superior attention to detail
Meet deadlines
Able to begin work immediately
Responsibilities include:
Researching and analyzing the law on complex issues
Writing motions and briefs for submission
Drafting pleadings including complaints, answers, motions to strike and demurrers
Drafting complicated legal documents, including letters, contracts and memoranda
Drafting meet and confer letters to opposing counsel
Current admission to the California State Bar and licensed attorney in good standing is required.
The Contractor will have no set schedule or work load, but a good estimate is needing someone to handle 10 to 15 hours or more a week. We offer competitive hourly wages, $90 to $120 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
