Meet Annie and Space Cowboy – Dogs in Urgent Need of Fosters!
Annie: Annie is a sweet pit mix girl with a quirky charm – she’s cross-eyed! While her vision isn’t the strongest, she’s otherwise healthy and ready to shine in a foster home. Annie is dog-selective and does better with large dogs than small ones. She might be best as the only dog in the home or in a home with larger dogs. No small dogs, please. Annie is good with people but can be nervous meeting strangers due to her limited vision, so slow introductions are best. Once she’s comfortable, she’s a wonderful companion. Annie needs a foster home ASAP – can you help her?
Space Cowboy: Space Cowboy is a lovable boxer mix who was recently rescued from the shelter. He’s a friendly, excitable boy with a great personality! He loves attention, cuddling, and playing. Space Cowboy has plenty of energy and will thrive with a foster who can engage him in fun activities. Right now, he’s battling a cold and will need a vet visit. Once he’s healthy, he’ll be ready for neutering. Space Cowboy needs a foster home ASAP where he can rest, recover, and feel safe.
General Foster Requirements:
- Age: 21+
- Home Environment: No small dogs, cats, or young kids; most of our dogs are large (60-90 lbs or bigger!), so fosters must be comfortable with big dogs.
- Commitment to Events: Be available to bring your foster dog to Petco in West Hollywood every other Saturday for mandatory adoption events and to pick up supplies.
- Vet and Meet & Greets: Be able to take the dog to vet appointments as needed and participate in meet-and-greets with potential adopters.
- Household Approval: Make sure everyone in your home is on board with fostering before reaching out.
- Time Commitment: We ask for a minimum four-week commitment. Short-term or emergency fostering is still helpful, but long-term fosters make the biggest impact!
Fostering is life-saving. Each dog you foster opens up space for us to rescue another dog from a high-kill shelter. It’s also fun and fulfilling – you’ll enjoy the love and companionship of a dog while helping them on their journey to a better life.
