Position Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on and dependable person with mechanical ability to join our team to support the ongoing operation and upkeep of our facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to solving maintenance challenges. This position also provides the opportunity to expand into new technical areas through on-the-job learning.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical components.
Respond to maintenance tickets in a timely and professional manner, minimizing downtime and disruption to building operations.
Inspect, diagnose, and resolve minor issues across building interiors and exteriors—roof, walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, fixtures, etc.
Assist with basic equipment maintenance.
Support building cleanliness and safety through routine checks of fire exits, alarms, emergency lighting, and security features.
Assist with apartment Make Ready duties.
Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor, contractors and vendors for specialized projects or repairs.
Follow safety protocols at all times.
Participate in an emergency on-call rotation for after-hours repairs.
Willingness to develop skills in specific systems as needed.
Qualifications:
Ability to use basic tools.
Strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Use of power tools, ladders, and safety equipment in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working from heights or in tight spaces.
Work Conditions:
Regular exposure to active commercial environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and public-use areas.
Regular exposure to residential apartments inhabited by tenants.
Occasional work during evenings, weekends, or holidays for emergencies or special projects.
