Fernwood is looking for a new Executive Chef to join our team. Fernwood Resort is a camping and glamping destination known for its warm, creative atmosphere, great food, tasty cocktails and live music. Set in the heart of Big Sur, along the Big Sur River, in a towering redwood grove, Fernwood has been called "the living room" of Big Sur and we need someone to take on the responsibility of running the kitchen and keeping our grill menu fresh and delicious.
This is a full time/year round position. Responsibilities include supervising the kitchen staff, food production, ordering and inventory, all while maintaining the highest level of food and safety standards. Must be competent in excel and have experience managing staff, food costs and food and labor budgets.
Salary will be based on experience. Compensation includes a single bedroom apartment and quarterly bonuses based on beating the budget for income and food and labor costs. Health insurance options, Paid Time Off and the added bonus of living and working in one of the worlds most beautiful places.
