And more than 40,000 institutional and retail pharmacies across North America and the United Kingdom leverage Omnicell’s innovative medication adherence solutions to improve patient engagement and adherence to prescriptions, helping to reduce costly hospital readmissions.Come join our team and be inspired by care!Vice President, Engineering - Population Health SystemsReporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Vice President, Engineering - Population Health Systems will be responsible for setting the technical direction and then developing new business solutions and enhancing existing business solutions for the PHS business. They will review the functionality of the business solutions in relation to being fit for purpose for the organization`s current and future needs, and develop strategies to continually improve and meet both the needs of internal and external stakeholders.Additionally, they will work with other teams in the organization to coordinate communications strategies, and deliver same in line with corporate guidelines and policies.The successful candidate will be responsible for building an enterprising and agile culture of developing and deploying SaaS (Software as a Service) capabilities. The PHS Engineering Leader will build high performing teams with a combination of existing personnel and new hires.Main Responsibilities

Managing a team of professionals, whose diverse work experience includes strategy consulting, marketing as well as other business areas.

Understand the issues facing a client, helping his/ her project team to effectively come up with solutions;

Structure the client’s problem, planning and driving the process of coming up with the solutions;

Assist in the coaching and development of team members.

Communicate effectively with people at all levels; influencing key stakeholders to adopt and execute against recommendations.

Ensure adequate project management capability is engendered within their own team to support delivery of the organization’s objectives.

Ensure that relevant accountabilities are determined within their team.

Ensure the organization has the adaptability and flexibility to recognize and cope with changing requirements of the stakeholders.

Proactively assist and manage Program Managers and Business Analysts within the organization in the development of collaborative projects.

Provide advice and guidance on issues in the development of solutions, including guidance and support in accessing appropriate methodologies and other advice in order to enhance the chances of success.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for Omnicell’s PHS solutions based on the overall strategy for the company’s cloud services.

Working with the Product organization and other business leaders, develop a roadmap for the capabilities that need to be developed to accomplish the company’s goals for SaaS offerings.

Establish the architecture and capabilities of the PHS offerings leveraging public cloud, hybrid or on prem technologies, selecting components that will power the targeted solutions and enable for the growth of the number of customers and data volumes.

Stay current with the latest cloud and AI technologies. Be proactive in anticipating and adapting to major technology changes.

Provide leadership, motivation and hands-on direction for the PHS engineering team.

Establish and implement technical standards for PHS SaaS development. Also, ensure on-time and on-budget software delivery.

To assist and advise the organization to identify opportunities for solution development.

Work with all parts of the organization to develop an achievable annual plan. The plan will have clear objectives, milestones and performance indicators. Provides support to user groups in the use of enterprise computer and communications environment

Ensure that all of the organization’s major business development projects are managed by appropriate management processes and to required standards so that they are delivered in time and within agreed budgets and by using the appropriate cost based models.

To understand and convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders clearly and concisely.

Develop and maintain effective lines of communication and strong working relationships with other teams, to ensure awareness and understanding of the requirements that new proposals/projects need to fulfill.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering

15+ years in software development at increasing levels of scope and leadership.

5+ years in pure SaaS development with experience in public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, Google, and IBM.

1+ years’ experience with recent representative cloud and big data software systems such as Kafka, Apache Spark, and Databricks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree

Experience in developing software for Healthcare including handling information with PHI and PPI, and the necessary provisions to manage them.

Experience with web development stacks, including mobile support. Candidate should have experience building complete Web-based and mobile systems.

Highly desired is the understanding of IoT and techniques for their integration with cloud platforms.

Experience building platforms with integration with other systems via Web APIs, service buses, and event queues is preferred.

Working knowledge of microservices architectures is a plus.
