Experienced Veterinary Imaging Technician

VCA California Veterinary Specialist in Ontario California is seeking an experienced Full-time Imaging technician for our team!We are the largest Specialty and Emergency hospital in the Inland Empire. For over a decade, we have provided exceptional veterinary service and patient care. We’re open 24 hours for emergencies and we’re available for appointments for our surgery, internal medicine, and neurology departments. We take pride in what we do and are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to work with our Board Certified Radiologist and our strong team of individuals in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone who is proficient with, but not limited to the following skills:

Perform diagnostic radiology and CT studies under the direction of a veterinarian

Train and monitor technical associates on all aspects of CT and X-ray equipment

Minimum 1 year direct experience. Having veterinary experience is a bonus!

Credentialed Vet Tech is preferred but is not required

Must have knowledge of PACS systems and related image viewing programs

Arrange for appropriate distribution of images throughout required modalities as requested by doctors or clients

Coordinate patient flow through the specialty departments, assisting in duties necessary to expedite service

Troubleshoot equipment, contacting support specialists when needed, maintaining records of equipment failure and notifying management

Consistently follow safety procedures in accordance with safety standards, immediately reporting any hazards or accidents

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to multi-task and critical think under pressure.

Must be able to stand, bend, or kneel for long periods of time.

Need ambulatory skills to perform duties while in the hospital, including manipulating (lift, carry, move) 40lbs or more; walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch intermittently, and stand for long periods

During any downtime from scanning, assist and receive basic training within the rest of the hospital to be able to assist technical/facility staff as needed.

Ensure the safety of personnel (and machine) in the MRI/CT/Ultrasound and Radiology areas

Oversee additional tasks assigned by your leadership team.
