Accounting Technician

Description Job Title: Accounting TechnicianThe Accounting Technician will support the accounting department in managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial data and assisting with various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.Key Responsibilities

Record Transactions: Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring all entries are correct and comply with established accounting principles.

Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify payment approvals, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping.

Accounts Receivable: Generate and send invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.

Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review.

Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees, and maintaining payroll records.

Compliance and Audits: Support compliance with financial regulations and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Data Management: Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both electronic and paper, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with data retention policies.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of [X years] experience in an accounting or finance role; experience with accounts payable and receivable preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and vendors.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while being self-motivated and able to work independently.
