From The Hearth Cafe & Bakery is looking for an experienced kitchen manager for an upcoming project. We need someone with the ambition, character, and ability to become a strong team leader. We are a rapidly expanding company with multiple cafe and drive thru locations throughout Northern California.
General Experience for the position requires:
Kitchen Manager
2+ years management experience and 3+ years cooking experience. Our Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading our employees in maintaining high standards for our food program through managing/training, completing weekly vendor orders, and communicating/correcting cooks in a way that creates a strong positive team environment. A few practical requirements include:
- Open availability and willingness to cover when necessary
- Ability to lead a team and make quick decisions, especially during busy rushes
- Ability to enforce company and kitchen procedures
- Desire to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to develop employees and leaders
- Ability to train and communicate information
- Desire for personal growth and development
- Clean, organized, and efficient
- Proper money handling and reporting procedures
- Proactive, finding ways to improve the business
- Ability to follow proper ordering procedures
- Knowledge of how to cost food
- A good understanding of waste and it's impact
Work can often be hard, but it is much harder working with people who do not have a great attitude and a strong work ethic. Our cafes, drive thrus, and bakery are busy, but our staff is great, and we enjoy working with each other.
