Lead the strategic prioritization of projects based on factors such as return on investment, business impact, and resource availability

Coordinate the planning and initiation of a portfolio of projects at various levels of completion

Develop and implement portfolio management processes, tools, and methodologies to improve project execution, monitoring, and reporting

Monitor project performance, track milestones, and assess risks to ensure the portfolio remains on track to achieve its objectives

Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment gaining consensus and agreement across Generation stakeholders of portfolio of projects over a 5+ year horizon

Decisions impact the Generation Organizational Unit’s trajectory and track towards to becoming a high performing capital asset improvement organization

QualificationsThe essentials

Ten or more years of progressive experience functioning in the Project Portfolio Management/Controls handling portfolios of a significant size and complexity

The preferred

Proven experience as a Project Portfolio Manager or similar role, managing a power generating asset portfolio of a significant size and complexity

Strategic thinker with the ability to align project efforts to organizational goals

Experience in asset-intensive industries and familiarity with Work Management disciplines

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field or technical discipline

Master’s degree in technical field or MBA

Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification and/or Portfolio Management Professional Certification (PfMP)

Experience with Power Bi, Advanced Excel, SAP, Primavera, Portfolio management software

You should know

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

Relocation does not apply to this position.
