Looking for a litigation legal assistant / secretary for a small, but quickly expanding, civil litigation firm located in Lafayette, CA. Primary areas of practice include commercial litigation, real estate, employment law, and personal injury. Looking for someone comfortable wearing multiple hats. Litigation legal assistant experience required. This position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, first-hand legal experience while working directly under multiple attorneys. Looking for someone who is hard-working, detail-oriented, and flexible. Our preference is that the Legal Assistant works from our Lafayette office, but we are open to a hybrid arrangement for the right person whereby some days can be remote and some days are from the office.
Requirements:
2+ years experience working as a litigation Legal Assistant required;
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required;
Experience working in a law office handling civil litigation disputes; and
Computer literacy and familiarity/fluency with Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Responsibilities:
Calendaring deadlines;
Managing and organizing case files;
Draft, proofread, and file pleadings in court;
Scheduling and coordinating calendars, conference calls, and meetings;
Research local court rules;
Coordinating with clients;
Scheduling depositions;
Assistance with written discovery;
Draft and format documents; and
Preparing filing and deposition exhibits.

Some familiarity with legal concepts, documents, and terminology;
