Job Title : Senior Network Engineer Location : San Carlos CA Full Time position Description The Senior Network Engineer will be a critical role in the headquarters office in CA supporting the on-site staff and other US based offices remotely. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills. The position will ensure that the corporate IT infrastructure is well maintained, robust, secure and dependable.
Specific Responsibilities:
Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.
Support the implementation and documentation of various software management systems including VMware, Active Directory, antivirsecurity solutions and O365 Exchange Online.
Manage Active Directory services including but not limited to: DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and Certificate Services.
Plan and oversee the distribution of client/server software and service packs via group policy or other processes.
Backup support for infrastructure and operation security profile AV (Crowdstrike), encryption, firewalls (PAN), etc.
Provide backup support of network infrastructure (LANs, ELANs, VLANs and VPNs) and cloud-based telephone systems and take appropriate action to correct issues.
Create and maintain technical documentation on the servers (Windows), storage (Nutanixand Vmware), backup / recovery processes, Active Directory, VMware and AV systems
Qualifications:
7-10 years of experience in providing IT Operations and Infrastructure support in the life sciences industry.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
Network security experience and/or certification.
Network security experience and/or certification.
LAN and WAN experience.
Strong knowledge of security solutions (AV, encryption, DLP)
Excellent written, verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
Ability to mentor or provide best practices to other members of the team.
The ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented environment is required.
Working knowledge of IT Service Management framework and/or ITIL concepts and practices.
