Job Summary:
Responsible for aiding project managers through preparation of project drawings, and performing energy and design/engineering calculations.
Responsible to work with a project manager to work as a team to produce and implement construction documents.
Creates construction documents based upon red-lines given from project manager.
Coordinate with other trades disciplines outside of MPE office, including architects, building owners, contractors, and structural and civil engineers.
Occasional travel required within the San Diego limits. May conduct field site surveys to review existing and new conditions.
Identifies, analyzes and implements office CAD standards.
Develops and recommends new CAD methods to improve office standards.
Education / Experience Requirements:
2 years of CAD and/or Revit/BIM engineering experience
Certified CAD education preferred
Engineering design experience preferred
BlueBeam REVU or other PDF editing experience preferred
MS Word and Excel experience
The ideal candidate will also have a combination of the following:
Experience using CAD for design production documents.
Must exercise time management and work well with others in a small team environment.
Experience in AutoCAD and be proficient in existing commands, standards and plotting management.
Understanding of basic MEP systems and desire to learn systems design and implementation.
Previous experience in HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical design, and implementation.
Previous experience with Title 24 and code compliance is a plus.
Familiarity associated with Microsoft programs, and has well-rounded computer skills.
Motivated, willing to take initiative, and has a desire to gain new skills and grow their career.
Strong communication skills, interacting with colleagues and clients.
