Company:Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.Job Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software EngineeringGeneral Summary: The Qualcomm ADAS/Autonomy team is engaged in offering optimized solutions built on DSP, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms for the Qualcomm ADAS/Autonomy SoCs. We are seeking engineers who can lead SoC BSP SW level functional safety management. This role requires safety management of SoC BSP SW, deployment of safety processes for the development of safety-compliant software, and leading safety-related execution to achieve the required safety compliance. Interaction with customers, architects, and test/integration teams is required. The job also involves working with the Software Quality team to adhere to ISO26262 and ASPICE processes.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C, Java, Python, etc.Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of industry experience in embedded software, especially in the automotive domain

Minimum 4 years’ experience in ISO26262 (Part 6 specifically)

Excellent understanding of functional safety software processes, especially ISO26262 Part 6

Experience in Safety Analysis (FMEA, DFA, FTA)

Experience in leading safety activities of complex SoC software

Experience in leading stakeholder engagements within development organizations, partners, and customers

Experience in functional safety management in the Automotive Domain: Safety software architecture specification, Safety Requirements definition, safety software development, Safety plan, Safety execution, and leadership

Good understanding of SoC HW low-level BSP Software/drivers, RTOS

Programming Languages: C/C Experience with complete SDLC and related processes

Experience with tools for static analysis, code coverage

Knowledge and experience of ASPICE/ISO26262 or equivalent Quality standards

Knowledge of various tools and methods related to functional safety/ISO26262 (Requirements Management, Static/dynamic analysis, Safety Analysis, Safety software design, implementation, and testing)

Motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work with engineers/partners/customers across different geographies

Demonstrated experience working with senior management in a corporate environment

Demonstrated experience in business process streamlining and transformation, including a disciplined approach to digitized services enabling

Good to have:

Experience in defining Software architecture, Software Design, and implementation of Embedded software for Automotive SoCs

Knowledge and working experience of Software Architecture and design tools and languages (UML/SysML)

Knowledge and working experience of ASPICE or equivalent Quality standards

Functional Safety related trainings/certifications

Experience in supporting customers/OEMs, ideally in Automotive, functional safety, and system safety concepts

Knowledge and passion for Software Design and Programming

Analyzes user needs, software requirements, and time and cost constraints to design and customize sophisticated software for optimal operational efficiency. Designs and implements software sub-systems for complex, large-scale products and systems. Leads design, coding, and testing efforts to ensure that projects are completed to specifications and schedules. Performs highly complex code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code. Collaborates with individuals outside the software function (e.g., Hardware, Systems, and Test engineers) to increase leverage and design solutions that work with other components of a specific project. Writes detailed technical documentation for highly complex Software projects; reviews technical documentation for junior engineers.Level of Responsibility: Works independently with minimal supervision. Provides supervision/guidance to other team members. Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc. Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
