Description Robert Half is partnering with a reputable organization in the construction industry to find a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is integral in managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the accounting team with various financial tasks. If you have a knack for numbers, exceptional communication skills, and experience in the construction sector, this could be the perfect fit!Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and issue accurate invoices for construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
Review job costing and ensure proper coding of expenses to the correct job accounts.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue invoices to maintain cash flow.
Collaborate with project managers and other departments to verify billing details and address discrepancies.
Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audits and reporting.
Reconcile accounts related to billing and assist with month-end closing processes.
Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
Support the accounting team with other tasks as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Billing Specialist, preferably in the construction industry.
Familiarity with construction billing practices, including progress and retention billing.
Strong knowledge of job costing and general accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
