Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Cyber Port Engineer

THOR Solutions is seeking a LCS Port Engineer to assist onboard technician with the maintenance, upkeep, installation, and modernization of systems and subsystems aboard LCS class ships in San Diego, CA. The candidate will be required to perform frequent visits to ships while pier side to ascertain the health and security of systems and to help troubleshoot network issues and performance issues.This position will also require occasional travel to assist ships force while they are deployed.The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing, supporting, or supervising the following actions:

Perform as a Cybersecurity SME on the following systems:

ADNS (Automated Digital Network System), AN/USQ-144 -Cisco 3825 Router, Cisco 3560 Switch

COMPOSE (Common PC Operating System Environment Program)- AN/USQ-153

GCCS-M (Global Command and Control System – Maritime)

ISNS (Integrated Shipboard Network System)

NTCSS (Naval Tactical Command Support System).

HBSS (Host Based Security System)

HSPS (High Speed Pier Suitcase)

BFTN (Battle Force Tactical Network)

JIWCS/SCI NETWORKS (Joint Intelligence World-wide Communications System/ Secret Compartmented Information)

Perform STIGs, vulnerability assessments, and cybersecurity remediation.

Configure and troubleshoot IT systems.

Location: Onsite at Naval Base San Diego in San Diego, CA.Salary: $65k - $100KUS Citizenship Required:Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate will already possess an Active Secret clearance.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High School Diploma/GED.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.

A minimum of five (5) years of cybersecurity experience in performing system hardening.

Demonstrated experience with performing STIG implementation.

Demonstrated experience performing vulnerability assessments with the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution tool.

Demonstrated experience remediating vulnerability findings to include implementing vendor patches on both Linux and Windows Operating systems.

Experience in configuration of Group Policy Objects, security configurations, advanced diagnostics and analysis for troubleshooting, Cisco devices (ISE, ASA firewalls), Avanti systems (call manager)

Experience with CANES or TSCE (LCS experience a plus)

Leadership roles either Active Duty or other experience, self-starter, and or mentor.

Required Certifications:

Qualify under the DOD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) as a Systems Security Analyst (461) at the Intermediate level (https://www.cool.osd.mil/usn/cswf/matrix.html?moc=cswfssa461) , in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M. Typically this includes at least ONE of the following credentials:

Associate Degree from accredited university in a relevant discipline such as Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.

CNSSI 4011-Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals/4012-Senior Systems Managers

CYBR2400 Cyber Operator Training Course

One of the following Navy Enlisted Classifications:

NEC 741A Information System Security Manager

NEC 742A Network Security Vulnerability Technician

NEC H08A Advanced Network Analyst

CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)

CompTIA Security+ CE (Sec+)

ISC2 Certified in Governance Risk and Compliance (CGRC)

ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
