Through involvement in clinical consultation and direct patient care, assesses and improves the patient care process for a defined population along the continuum of care; serving as an expert clinical resource for ensuring quality of care and customer satisfaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that evidence-based practice is implemented and understood by staff. Serves as a link integrating relevant research, best practice and clinical delivery processes. Provides expertise in a defined population of nursing to facilitate the development of quality, cost-effective services. Fosters the advancement of nursing practice. Experience/Specialized Skills: Five years recent acute care experience with demonstrated leadership experience required. Minimum one year experience with the assigned patient population. Ability to speak Spanish recommended.Required Certification/Registration: Current California RN License. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification or American Red Cross BLS/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification required. Current ACLS certification required. Maintains medical staff credentialing as an allied health professional.Required Education/Course(s)/Training: Nurse Practitioner credential required. NP in area of clinical specialization preferred.
