Requirements
BS Degree in Computer Science or related fields
6+ years of experience in performance tuning of large-scale Postgres database systems
Advanced practical knowledge in database monitoring, diagnosing and tuning for high performance
Thorough understanding of the architecture of Postgres
Demonstrated knowledge in designing and managing high availability environments.
Deep understanding of SQL query execution, execution plan analysis & optimization and index tuning strategies
Advanced knowledge of PL/pgSQL, triggers and writing advanced scripts
Work closely with the development teams to guide in writing best sql queries and recommend best practices
Shell scripting skills for proactive monitoring to diagnose potential problems before they become production issues
