We empower non-experts by providing user-friendly tools that enable them to create tailored applications to address their specific requirements. Our vision is to make app creation a straightforward and accessible endeavor.Role:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team. As a Senior Manager for App Engine, you’ll lead team members as they work w/ key stakeholders as they evaluate, design, develop and deliver high quality experiences to our customers. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving engineering initiatives to deliver outstanding customer experiences.What you get to do in this role:   

Design and deliver an outstanding experience for our customers – targeting the citizen developer persona; this involves everything from Generative AI to simple “on rails” declarative tooling like Creator Studio for creating specific types of applications.

Manage daily activities of the development team to drive engineering excellence, working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments.

Work w/ product architecture, management, design, support, and other teams to create high-quality solutions.

Manage customer escalations, as well as occasional customer meetings discussing new features, feedback, and issues (led by Product Management)

Solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems.

Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.

Manage departmental resources, staffing, and mentoring to enhance/maintain our best-of-class engineering team.

To be successful in this role you have:

Passion for Java, JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization

Passion for software development and problem-solving

Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations

Advanced knowledge with relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization.

Ability to execute a project based on our priorities, context, risks, and desired outcomes.

Fluency in one or more relevant programming languages (Java, C, Ruby, Shell, JavaScript)

Knowledge of AJAX, JSON, HTML, XML, CSS, SOAP, REST, and associated frameworks.

8+ years of experience with technologies which are relevant to ServiceNow and/or similar technology and advanced coding skills.

5+ years of experience in a people management role

Must have hands on recent programming experience and involved in software development life cycle.

RM24FD21For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $163,000 - $285,200, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
