Provides quality support for assigned applications and performs analysis and troubleshooting. Demonstrates competency for operational, application and administrative duties required to support Sharp's environment in an accessible manner. Provides direct support for simulation applications and the effective and efficient use of departmental resources. Manages project initiatives and planning activities within scope. Collaborates with other Sharp team members and external customers and partners.Required Qualifications

2 Years Extensive/Proficient experience managing simulation solutions including their underlying technologies and leading teams with the architecting, building, installing, configuring, monitoring, optimizing, maintaining and operational support.

AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in health information technology, computer science, or healthcare related field

2 Years Experience in a health system to include systems analysis and/or simulation technology, including Laerdal simulation technology.

2 Years Preferred clinical knowledge and experience working in a healthcare field such as allied health profession certification and training, registered nurse, corpsman, certified nursing assistant, paramedic, emergency medical technician, or equivalent demonstrated experience

Other Qualification Requirements

Relevant experience or appropriate certifications may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

Essential Functions

Simulation and Professional Expertise Partners with the simulation team and end-users to develop and implement evidenced-based best practice healthcare simulation experiences using state of the art facilities, equipment, and technology.Prepares equipment, supplies, and supporting documentation for simulation events.Assists faculty, staff, and clients in healthcare simulation events including equipment, manikins, and standardized patients.Prepares and applies moulage to standardized patients and simulators.Sets up and provides audiovisual support for simulation experiences including equipment used for live streaming and reviewing simulation activities.Oversees equipment set up and breakdown of all elements of a simulation event.Contributes to the development of simulation scenarios and innovative education techniques.Assists in orienting students, faculty, staff, and learners to the BSC, including safe simulation practices.Assists with technology and simulation education best-practice training for faculty, staff, and learners.Participates in simulation faculty development sessions.Researches, evaluates, and recommends emerging technologies specific to simulation-based education equipment, task trainers, and simulators.Maintains personal knowledge and expertise in the use and operation of healthcare simulation technologies.Enhances own professional growth through self-evaluation and setting and meeting developmental goals

Technology Provides necessary assessment and maintenance of simulators and task trainers with regular cleaning and replacement of disposable parts including updates and emergency repair.Troubleshoots electrical or networking issues (within warranty guidelines) including auditing and testing all healthcare simulation equipment and systems according to current specification requirements.Collaborates with Sharp Information Technology and Clinical Engineering Services to maintain simulation center equipment and technology, including maintenance and implementation within warranty guidelines and assists with the management and installation of software and hardware upgrades.Provides specialized technical support/maintenance for simulation equipment, audiovisual components, video management software, and medical equipment.Leads the audit and testing of all healthcare simulation equipment and systems ensuring they run efficiently according to current specification requirements.Performs emergency repair of simulation equipment and systems, arranging for appropriate vendor repairs, replacements, and substitutions; maintains record of repairs.Conducts analysis of proposed solutions impact to other applications.Maintains hardware and software changes across the production and test environments according to Brown Simulation Center policy.Monitors and communicates scheduled and unscheduled Downtime Processes and disaster recovery procedures.Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to Sharp Security policies.

Project managementDevelops an accurate scope, definition, and charter for assigned projects.Participates in development of simulation learning plan.Ensures execution of learning plan.Determines and plans for appropriate project task support and task communication.Participates in risk identification and mitigation.Follows approved project management standards.Manages progress of the implementation.

Operations Assists the BSC team in preparing and maintaining accreditation requirements.Manages records and data within the SPIEC BSC including, but not limited to, equipment specifications and documentation.Schedules simulation activities and simulation center resources.Contributes to the development of the SPIEC BSC policies, procedures, best practices, and process improvement.Assists with tours and demonstrations in the Simulation Center.Conducts inventory management, ordering and record keeping of equipment, supplies and assets.Manages simulation space, equipment, and materials utilization data collection and reporting.Liaisons with external customers and vendors for technology demonstrations scheduling and logistics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in the applications supported by the department, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Laerdal and other simulation related technologies.

Must respond to frequent deadlines calmly and professionally for reports and related tasks and prepare work and presentations on short notice.

Operates a range of audiovisual hardware and software, information technology, and a range of simulation technologies.

Provides technical support and troubleshooting of technology to users.

Can source, install, update, maintain, and repair simulation equipment.

Plans and manages projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Has knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Integrates with internal and external policies, standards, and regulations.

Establishes and maintain systems and processes for resource management.
